Japanese notebook manufacturer Fujitsu has announced a new addition to the company’s India portfolio. The Lifebook AH552/SL Ultrabook is available in India now for a price of Rs 61,900.

As an ultrabook, the Lifebook AH552 is 25.4mm slim and weighs between 2.2-2.6 kg depending on the final configuration and battery capacity. Fujitsu has included multiple configuration options for the notebook.


The ultrabook has a 15.6-inch TFT, LED backlit, glossy panel with a resolution of 1366 x 768. When it comes to choosing the processor, customers have the choice of picking one of seven CPUs. The options range from Intel Ivy Bridge processors such as the Core i3-3110M clocked at 2.4GHz, Core i3-3120M processor clocked at 2.5GHz, Core i5 3210M processor with a clock-speed range of 2.5GHz to 3.1GHz and the i5-3230M processor, which can be clocked to 3.2GHz at its maximum configuration. The company also has included the option of choosing the high-end Core i7-3612QM or Corei7-3632QM processors with 6MB cache and up to 3.2GHz. The Ivy Bridge processors are all coupled with Intel HD 4000 graphics. The only Sandy Bridge or second-generation Intel processor option is the Core™ i3-2350M processor clocked 2.3GHz. Naturally, the Sandy Bridge CPU comes with Intel HD 3000 graphics.

The ultrabook supports up to 16GB of RAM in two memory slots. HDD options range from 320GB SATA 5400rpm drives to the faster 7200rpm 500GB SATA drive. Fujitsu has also allowed users to pick a 5400 rpm, 750GB HDD.

One of the notebook’s USB ports is of the USB 3.0 variety and it features the Anytime USB Charge functionality to charge mobile phones and tablets even when the system is switched off. The keyboard on the Lifebook AH552 is chiclet style, and has a spill-resistant design along with a full num pad. A protective membrane and collection tray under the keyboard help reduce the chance of internal components coming in contact with water or other liquid.

As far as the selection of ports is concerned, the Lifebook AH552 isn’t lacking. It has a single DC-in port, 3 x USB 2.0, one USB 3.0 port for Anytime USB Charge functionality, a VGA port, an HDMI port, an RJ-45 Ethernet jack, a Kensington Lock to keep the laptop secure. The company has also added a 4-in-1 card reader, which supports SD, SDHC, MS, MS Pro cards. The ultrabook has the DTS Boost functionality and stereo speakers.
