Google Glass XE11 Update Adds Calendar Search, Directions And More


Every one out there has become a die hard fan for Google Glass and every one of us wants to have one for our own. Everyone must know that it is not publicly available yet, as the beta testing of Glass is i progress, there are a lot of matters that is needed to be considered before buying one and one of the most important matters is privacy so until Google gets a fix for all the loopholes, it is better to just praise the futuristic technology. Even though Google unveiled their next-generation Google Glass 2 eye wear last week, the search giant hasn’t yet stopped rolling out updates for its first-generation of Google Glass devices and has today rolled out the Google Glass XE11 update.

The latest Google Glass XE11 update brings with it a number of new features for Glass Explorers to enjoy including a new calendar search feature which requires a Google Calendar user with a Gmail account to function.

The new Google Glass calendar search allows owners to use commands such as “ok glass, google my agenda” to learn your upcoming appointments or “ok glass, google what am I doing next week” to see a upcoming appointments and fixtures.
Within the Google Glass XE11 update Google has also enhanced the screencast feature include with Glass enabling users to now start a start a screencast from the notification drawer on their Android smartphone.

As well as a new directions features that allows you to refer to location for your “home” and “work”. Google explains:

“It’s even easier to find your way home. Tell Google Maps where you live and work and you can refer to their locations by “home” or “work” on Glass. It’s part of Google’s personalized search so when you ask Glass for directions home, it’ll know what you mean. To get started, insert your home and work address in Google Maps or Google Now (iOS instructions) and then try it out on Glass. From the home screen, say “ok glass, get directions to home.”
