Xiaomi has had a great success in India with its earlier flagship Mi3. Now, it is bringing the latest phone from its stables to India: The Mi4. The phone itself is not new, albeit this will mark its official entry in the Indian market. If previous results are any indication, Xiaomi should not have any huge issues in making this product a big success too. Xiaomi is launching Mi4 with MIUI6, the company's latest operating system based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
The company will sell about 30,000 Mi4's for Rs 19,999/- each on February 10, registrations for which began on Flipkart at six in the evening on Wednesday.
The Xiaomi Mi 4 has been expected for a while in India, with the company yet to offer a replacement for its popular-but-scarce Mi 3 flagship since it discontinued sales in October. The company also made the Xiaomi Mi 3 available in its last chance sale earlier this week on Republic Day.
The Xiaomi Mi4 smartphone sports a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at 441 ppi along with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It runs on a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 CPU with 3GB RAM.The phone comes with a 13MP rear camera along with an 8M front camera. The rear camera supports 4K video recording. On the connectivity front, the phone will support 3G networks, WiFi, and Bluetooth and is powered by a 3080 mAh battery.
Xiaomi also notes that the Mi 4 features a stainless steel metal frame which passes through "40 processes and 193 steps".
