Forget what you know about Virtual Reality and the way Windows is generally used to make it happen. This week Microsoft have revealed Windows Holographic, a system which will place Windows all around your environment, over everything. "A few years ago we started asking ourselves - could we make things simple so technology would just disappear?" said Microsoft's Alex Kipman, "Until now we've immersed ourselves in the world of technology, but what if we could take technology and bring it into our world?"
Holograms behave just like real world object and you can create your own holograms using Microsoft HoloStudio it's like building 3-D in 3-D. You can create your own 3-D objects in minutes and the make it alive using any 3-D Printer.
Alex Kipman, who helped produce Microsoft’s Kinect motion-sensing device, introduced a completely new device for Windows 10 on Wednesday.
It’s called Windows Holographic.
It’s not virtual reality — where you enter a virtual world — but it’s more like augmented reality, where you wear a special piece of headgear to insert virtual elements into the real world.
It is developed by Microsoft in collaboration with Jet Propulsion Laboratory(JPL),the team responsible for MARS Rover. The HoloLens Team comprised of a very few members comprising of Research Scientists and Top Software Developers so that the project could remain a secret till its launch (and yes they succeeded!!).There’s also some extra hardware: It’s called Microsoft HoloLens. It’s the first fully untethered holographic computer, which will be available in the Windows 10 time frame.
Today, with the launch of Windows 10, Microsoft launched this revolutionary device. It works with gesture control, voice control to create objects, play games, skype and learn. It creates one of the broadest opportunity to participate. It consists of a seperate processing unit called HPU (Holographic Processing Unit), which is responsible for processing gigabytes of data in real-time.
This is really a revolutionary work by Microsoft. Will Microsoft gain its popularity back with Windows 10 which was lost during Windows 8?
